What is so important in your life that, like Paul, you would "travel" 10,000 miles to fight for it or to proclaim it?

Family is important in my life and I will do everything I can to make my family happy and safe. Paul travel to many countries and teach people many things. I love my family like Paul loves his people. Paul can travel 10,000 miles to give his knowledge and share the knowledge from the lord. My family is my believe and they are what I want to protect. I want to get better knowledge and become better person so I come to America. My family support my decision and hope I can become better. With the hope of my family, I think I have energy to fight and travel for it. I want to make my family proud of me and know me. And I also want to share my experience with them and let them know more things and also share their loyalty to lord. I want them to know about lord and know about what I want to do and what lord wants me to do.

What does it mean to say 'Yes' to God?

Say 'Yes’ to God means to follow how God thinks what life will be. Say 'Yes' to God means to show your loyalty to God and let God creates a line between you and Jesus. Say 'Yes' to God seems to say yes to life because God helps you and blesses you when you live. Say 'Yes' to God can be a faith when you are in trouble so you can calm yourself and solve the problem. You believe God and let God helps you to choose a better life. It is hard to say 'Yes' to God but it is necessary. I heard something from my aunt, one of her friend had really bad life last year. Her mom died and she lost her job, her felt really tired but she went to church and said her bad life to God. Then she thought life was not so bad and she tried to start a new life. She lives much happier than before. Say 'Yes' to God means to show your difficulties and weakness to God and lets God help you and show you a better way to work on your weakness. Say 'Yes' to God means to have a relationship with God and Jesus. Say 'Yes' to God can get peace from God and get a better life. Say 'Yes' to God means to share your ideas with God and hopes God can help people think deeper. Say 'Yes' to God means to get free from your mistakes and negative side of your life.

Alumnae Interview

I talk with a sister called Emily, she is really nice woman. She graduated from Notre Dame in 2002. She told me she still keep in touch with one of her Notre Dame friends. She told me she is really proud to be a NDB alum and her experience in NDB makes her life easier. She thinks studying in NDB was a good experience and set her up for a good next step in life. Emily likes swimming and her best memories about NDB include Aquacades and a trip to DC for CloseUp. I think she likes some exciting sports. Emily has a high evaluation to her teacher. A good memory between Emily and her teacher is the trust the faculty. Her teachers treated students with respect.
After talking with Emily, I think high school is important to every student. Students learn knowledge in school and they both learn how to be a person. I am a student that don’t like study at all and get bad grades in my middle school. So that’s really hard for me to get in a high school. At that time, I notice students need to study even you hate it. Knowledge is always changing and you need to keep on learning then you will follow the society. I think Notre Dame is more like a family than like a school. I learn things from here and I both share my suffering to others. I think Emily knew this so she trust teachers and classmates. I think to be a memory of Notre Dame community means a new start for me. I am new to this school and I feel hard at first but now it is getting better and better. Everyone in this school is nice and they will help me when I am in trouble. I know I am a memory of NDB and I will join in some clubs and make more friends. I hope others can see my good qualities and tell me about my bad qualities. I think Emily thought to be a member of Notre Dame community means happiness and improvement. I have same similar ideas with Emily. After I came here and made some new friends I felt I understand some truth of life.

Considering the quote: “I have looked into your eyes with my eyes.  I have put my heart near your heart.”, what you have learned and what we have discussed, describe the Sister Dorothy in you...

Sr. Dorothy is a nice and fantastic woman. She spent most of her life stayed with poor and be poor like poor. Sr. Dorothy was killed on her way to a meet, everyone she helped are sad and regrettable for her death. Sr. Dorothy is nice to everyone near her. She lived with people and helped people to do their works. Sr. Dorothy is a amazing woman, she said "I have looked into your eyes with my eyes. I have put my heart near your heart." In her mind, everyone is equally and have their right to have all the things that they should have. In Sr. Dorothy 's mind, everyone can become a new and better people when someone keep on working to help the poor. Sr. Dorothy life let us think a lot about life. How to make a better life for ourselves and people how are suffering. Caring and understanding people in suffer, know them, help them, this is Sr. Dorothy's life. Sr. Dorothy is always near people who need her help, when people feel sad, she will feel sad; when people feel happy, she will feel happy. Sr. Dorothy can see what people need and can feel their feeling and help them to be better. Sr. Dorothy think and care about others more than herself. To know a kind of people needs to be like them, stay with them, understand them, Sr. Dorothy did all of these. Sr. Dorothy is a hero, she isn't afraid of death and she just want to make others live better and don't need to worry about food and land.

Journal #9

If we are journeying all our human lives towards perfection, what is the role of suffering? Can suffering provide moments of learning?  For the victim?  For others? Think about what Frankl said as you reflect on these questions: "To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffering" and "If there is a purpose in life at all, there must be a purpose in suffering and in dying. But no man can tell another what this purpose is.  Each must find out for himself, and must accept the responsibility that this answer prescribes.  If he succeeds, he will continue to grow in spite of all indignities."

If our life is perfect now, then suffering will become a experience and toughening. Suffering will become the test of life. Every time when you face suffering, you can learn something from it, even just have some thoughts about life. The victim yourself may learn something about how to make this thing better and how to change the thing that make you suffering into the thing that can become your strong point. Everyone will have suffer because that is life. Life is not easy, like Frankl said "To live is to suffer" Suffer has reason but nobody know the reason, so just forced on how to learn something from suffering. Try to treat others as good as you can and tell they your suffering, people may tell you more about life and how to grow like a better person. Suffering is good for you to learn things and train your thoughts about life and others.
